Corentin Cariou (Paris Métro)

Corentin Cariou is an underground station of the Paris Métro. It is located below the Avenue de Flandre in Paris's 19th arrondissement and is served by the Métro line 7. Is named the station after the Frenchman Corentin Cariou.

The station was taken on November 5, 1910 in operation, as the portion of the line was opened 7 from the Opéra to Porte de la Villette.

Naming

The station was initially the name Pont de Flandre, on which crosses the Rue de Flandre the Canal Saint- Denis to the bridge.

In 1946 she received the present name, in honor of Corentin Cariou a former member of the City Council of the 19th arrondissement. The Communist Cariou had been executed in 1942 by the German occupiers.
