Corferias is a fairground in the Colombian capital Bogota, which is used to host local, national and international events. With a covered exhibition area of ​​44.430 square meters, it is one of the largest in Latin America.

History

Corferias was founded in 1954 by the Ministerio de Fomento de Colombia and the Asociación Colombiana de Pequeñas y Medianas Industrias ( Acopi ); It was initially led by Jorge Reyes Gutiérrez.

In the same year, the first fair was held, the Feria Internacional de ExposiciÃ, which became the Feria Internacional de Bogotá later. As Acopi sold 1955 shares at the Instituto de Fomento Industrial ( IFI), Corferias was converted into a public limited company.
