Corina Dumbrăvean

Corina Dumbrăvean ( born April 15, 1984 in Bistrita ) is a retired Romanian middle distance runner who had specialized in the 1,500 -meter run.

Dumbrăvean won at the Indoor Athletics Championships 2005 in Madrid with personal Hallenbestleistung of 4:05,88 min the silver medal in the 1500 meter run behind her compatriot Elena Iagăr. In the same year she was national champion over 800 meters and 1500 meters. They also won at the Balkan Championships in the 1500 meter race. About the same distance she finished sixth at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 they also finished sixth in a personal best of 4:02,34 min.

Dumbrăvean was closed on 16 November 2007 because of a doping offense for two years. When she refused a drug test, 2010, she was fined for this second offense on June 3 with a lifetime competition ban.
