Cornell Glen

Cornell Glen ( born October 21, 1981 in Port of Spain ) is a soccer player from Trinidad and Tobago. The striker is currently with the Los Angeles Galaxy in the U.S. Major League Soccer under contract and is also on the national team of Trinidad and Tobago.

Glen began his career as a professional footballer in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago at Futgof, in the 2000 /01 season, he was briefly in Portugal's second division under contract, but could not establish themselves, so that he 2002 season back in the native league, this time to the San Juan Jabloteh, returned. His 37 goals in his two seasons in 2002 and 2003 secured San Juan, the first and only to Dato Championships and thus qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup. In the quarter- final first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2004 against the Chicago Fire SC from the MLS he managed a hat-trick, which gave him a contract with the New York MetroStars. In the remaining 18 games of the season he scored six goals and two assists; yet he moved due to the SuperDraft control after the end of the season for FC Dallas, but he passed it on to Columbus Crew without any application at the beginning of the 2005 season. After a rather mixed season for Columbus with only four goals in 22 games he was sold for the 2006 season to the Colorado Rapids. There he remained only very briefly, after the season opening game you sold him to the Los Angeles Galaxy. There he was able to achieve two goals in the first four games, but was injured soon so strong that his performance at the World Cup was in question, so that he no longer was used to start the preparation for the 2006 World Cup.

For the national team of Trinidad and Tobago he played already at the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2005, where his team is, however winless retired as the last of their group in the first round. But Glen is a regular player of the national team, he scored eleven goals in 35 games so far. In April 2006 he was appointed to the selection of his country for the soccer World Cup 2006 in Germany.
