Cornerstone (Austrian band)
Cornerstone is an Austrian rock band from Mödling, which was founded in 1998. The breakthrough came in 2008 with the signing of a contract with the U.S. record label ATOM Records, which has, among other acts such as Jon Butcher and Barefoot Servants under contract. In March 2008, the band won the alternative by the U.S. music magazine Addiction hosted " Next Big Thing " contest, and on Chungaradio ( Scottsdale / AZ, USA ) reached the band totally surprising No. 1 on the listener charts as the " most-requested and most played band".
History
The beginnings of the band date back to the summer of 1998, when Steve and Michael Wachelhofer together with Markus Bousska as a drummer formed a band, the first covers of bands like The Cure and REM played. At that time, created his first self-penned tracks. Despite some success, there were difficulties in the band, band members came and went, and after a few moderately successful performances and a catastrophic, never finished studio production, the band was in the summer of 2004, just before the corner. Only by accident it came then to fill with Hannah Wachter and Anja Schirmer, so the band decided to continue her musical career yet.
In 2007, performances followed in several music festivals, including in Italy at the " Spirit of Woodstock Festival ". The band then took their debut album " Head Over Heels ", which was published in 2008 and has received from the European and American press as well as the local radio very good reviews.
