CoRoT-7

CoRoT -7, formerly called CoRoT- Exo -7, is a main sequence star in the constellation of Monoceros with an apparent magnitude of 11.7 mag. With a spectral type of about K0 and a surface temperature of about 5300 Kelvin, he is similar to the sun.

The companion

The name of the star derives from the with him first discovered planet CoRoT -7 b from. CoRoT -7 b was discovered in January 2009 as the seventh candidate exoplanets using the CoRoT space telescope, which also gave him the name.

In September 2009, CoRoT -7 c was ( also written as " CoRoT- 7c ') first discovered as a second planet in the system. This is probably a so-called super-Earth, so this system would be the first discovered system with two Earth-like planets.
