CoÅŸkun TaÅŸ

Coşkun Tas ( born April 23, 1935 in Aydın ) is a retired Turkish football player. The all-rounder, who has German citizenship, took part with the Turkish national team at the World Cup in 1954 and is considered one of the first Turks in the German league football.

Career

Tas started playing football in his hometown at Aydinspor. From 1949 he played with a special permit from the men's team before he moved to study in Istanbul after his graduation in 1951. There he hired at Beşiktaş Istanbul and developed left-back in the following year to the national team. Qualified with the national selection of the offensive players been converted into 19 -year-old after drawing lots - the decisive qualifier against Spain ended after extra time in a draw and a penalty shoot there was not yet the time -. For the World Cup tournament in Switzerland in 1954, where he came only in the second group match against the German national, which ended with a 2:7 defeat and early exit means are used.

In Beşiktaş Tas ran parallel to his studies until 1959 and twice won the Turkish Cup. After graduation, he wanted to go to Germany because his father had 1913-1917 lived in the country and worked as an architectural draftsman. On their own initiative, he traveled to Cologne to play for FC Cologne 1 can. In 1962, he accepted an offer from the Cologne Ford plant to work in the department of sales planning and to serve as a coach, the parallel operation team. Later he worked for SC Viktoria Köln.

Today Tas is the soccer sports still connected and working as Official and Immigration Officer at the Football Association of the Middle Rhine. After he has lived since 1959 in Germany and is married to a German, he has since also adopted the German citizenship.
