Côte de Beaune

The Cote de Beaune is the southern part of the Côte- d'Or, a wine region of Burgundy. The northern part of the Côte de Beaune starts below the Côte de Nuits to the north of Beaune in Corgoloin and next Corgoloin includes the municipalities Ladoix -Serrigny, Aloxe -Corton, Pernand -Vergelesses, Chorey- les -Beaune and Savigny- lès -Beaune. This area was mainly produces red wine made from Pinot Noir. The area south of Beaune with communities Pommard, Volnay, Monthelie, Auxey -Duresses to Meursault and Puligny -Montrachet are famous for best white wines made from Chardonnay grapes. Even further south in the municipalities of Chassagne -Montrachet, Santenay, Cheilly -lès- Maranges, Dezize -lès- Maranges and Sampigny -lès- Maranges again dominate reds.
