Cotkytle

Cotkytle ( German Zottkittl also Zackiecel ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 14 km northeast of the city Lanškroun in Okres Ústí nad Orlicí on the historical border between Bohemia and Moravia.

History

The first written mention of Cotkytle dates from the year 1350. Zackiecel The place name or Zockicel is borrowed from the word Zottkittel ( -haired coat ). Presumably, the village was founded by German colonists Cotkytle. Cotkytle is mentioned in 1412 together with the location Janoušov, the district of the municipality is later. Both places were originally to High townspeople rule, while the later parts of municipalities Laudon and Herbortice at that time belonged to the country Kroner rule.
