Countess Claudine Rhédey von Kis-Rhéde

Claudine Countess Rhédey of Kis- RHEDE ( born September 21, 1812 in Erdőszentgyörgy; † October 1, 1841 in Ptuj ) was a Hungarian nobleman and grandmother of the Queen of England and Empress of India, Queen Mary.

Life

Claudine was a daughter of Count László Rhédey of Kis- RHEDE and his wife, the Baroness Agnes Inczédy de Nagy- Várad.

On May 2, 1835 married Claudine Rhédey of Kis- RHEDE in Vienna Prince Alexander of Württemberg ( 1804-1885 ), only son of the Duke Louis of Württemberg and his second wife, the Princess Henrietta of Nassau -Weilburg. The marriage produced three children:

  • Claudine Agnes Marie Henriette (1836-1894), Countess of Hohenstein
  • Franz Paul Karl Ludwig Alexander (1837-1900), 1871 Duke of Teck
  • Josephine Amalie Henriette Agnes Susanne (1838-1893), Countess of Hohenstein

Her husband was excluded from the succession in Württemberg because of this socially unacceptable marriage. Claudine received on May 16, 1835 the title of Countess of Hohenstein. After six years of marriage, Claudine was trampled at a cavalry exercise Alexanders of through horses to death.
