Countess Palatine Eleonora Catherine of Zweibrücken

Eleonore Katharine von Pfalz -Zweibrücken - Kleeburg ( born May 17, 1626 Stegeborg; † March 3, 1692 in Easter wood) was a Countess Palatine of Zweibrücken- Kleeburg and by marriage Countess of Hessen- Eschwege.

Life

Eleonore Katharine was a daughter of the Count Palatine Johann Casimir of Zweibrücken - Kleeburg (1589-1652) from his marriage to Princess Catherine (1584-1638), daughter of King Charles IX. from Sweden. Eleanor's brother was when Charles X Gustav King of Sweden in 1654.

She married in 1646 in Stockholm Landgrave Friedrich of Hessen- Eschwege ( 1617-1655 ). Because the Swedish royal dowry Eleanor of 17,000 Reichstalern and related obligations of another 10,000 thalers was not able to pay, Frederick received as compensation the offices Easter wood and Stotel and the rule Beverstedtermühlen.
