Coupling Facility

The Coupling Facility ( CF) is a hardware component of IBM mainframes. Its task is to enable all processors have access to the same data, and is also responsible for the flexible load distribution and scaling. The CF takes over tasks of locking, caching, queuing and Updating. It is controlled by the so-called CFCC ( Coupling Facility Control Code ).
