Deichschart called the hole in a dike body, there is a through road, railway line or other transport route. Depending on the region, such a structure is also called dike. Stöpe

A Stöpe is also a lockable passage for a traffic route in a dike. Stöpen are more likely to set up in the second dike line, or in certain rare floods, and remain open longer. If necessary, they will be provided with two rows of wooden planks and sandbags between them and closed it. Instead sandbags sometimes clothes or manure is filled. The closing is regularly practiced by the fire brigades. Frequently one finds Stöpen in sleep dikes, but also in the harbor area in dikes.
