Court of Cassation (France)

The Court of Cassation of France (French Cour de Cassation [ kuʁ.də.kɑ.sa ' sjɔ ] ) is the highest court of ordinary jurisdiction of the Republic of France. It has its headquarters in the Palais de Justice ( Palace of Justice ) in Paris. It consists of a Criminal and Civil Divisions and five checks judgments for errors of law. If it finds such, the judgment is canceled (French casser, to break '; German cash ). Objective is to maintain a consistent jurisprudence within France. Court President (French Premier président) since 2007 Vincent Lamanda.
