Craig Benson

Craig Benson ( born October 8, 1954 in New York City ) is an American politician. He was from 2003 to 2005 Governor of the State of New Hampshire.

Early years and economic advancement

Benson attended the Chatham High School and then to 1977, the Babson College. After he completed his studies at Syracuse University. In 1983 he founded the Cabletrons Systems Society. Until the division of the company into four parts in 2000, Benson was with short breaks CEO of the company, which he led with an iron fist. The company has at times been very successful, which in turn Benson earned wide acclaim nationwide. After the end of its activity as a company director, he lectured on entrepreneurship at Babson College.

Political career

Craig Benson is a member of the Republican Party. On 5 November 2002 he was chosen as their candidate for governor of his state. Benson took up his new post on January 9, 2003. As Governor, he stood up for budget cuts. Soon after he took office, there were irregularities in his administration, especially in the award of contracts. Furthermore resigned his Justice Minister Peter Heed. More rumors of similar operations conducted in 2004 to being voted out. Therefore, he had to give up his office on 6 January 2005. With his wife, Denise Benson Governor Benson has two children.
