Creuse

The Creuse ( [ kʀø ː z], Occitan Cruesa ) is a French department of atomic number 23 It is in the center of the country, in the Limousin region and is named after the river Creuse.

Geography

The Creuse is bordered to the north by the department of Indre and Cher, in the northeast on the Allier, on the east by the department of Puy -de- Dôme, in the south of the Correze, and to the west by the department of Haute- Vienne.

The department is in the northwest of the Massif Central. The south of the department extends into the Millevaches Plateau. In Millevaches Plateau rises even the eponymous Creuse which flows through the department in a northwesterly direction.

Demographics

The population of the department is constantly declining since the early 1960s. The reason for this is in addition to the brain, as recorded by the mid- 1970s, a significantly below-average birth rate, which remained constant below the mortality.
