Criolla grande

Criolla Grande is a lighter variation of the red grape mission which in turn is probably identical with País.

It is believed that both Criolla Grande and Mission and Cereza of vines descended the Jesuit Father Cedron in 1557 brought to Argentina. They should have been first planted in the area of Santiago del Estero.

The yield of Criolla Grande is great. Dark -white or rosé wines are produced for the mass market that are often packaged in tube containers or large bottles from their more or less. These wines are also often used for blending with bold red wines. Criolla Grande is also used in a large scale as a table grape.
