Cristina Neagu

Cristina Georgiana Neagu ( born August 26, 1988 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian handball player.

Career

Cristina Neagu played in Romania at CSS 5 Bucureşti, Braşov Rulmentul and from 2009 to CS Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea, with whom she won the 2010 championship and the finals of the EHF Champions League 2010 reached where one Danish club Viborg HK defeated. In early 2011, she was elected to the world handball player of the year 2010. In the same year, the 1.80 meter tall backcourt player injured so hard on the shoulder, that they, in October 2012, could play only 605 days later. In January 2013 she moved to a torn ACL. After having to leave due to financial problems of the club Vâlcea end of season 2012/13, she joined the Montenegrin first division zrk Budućnost Podgorica.

With the Romanian national Neagu participated in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and won in part at the European Championships 2010 in Denmark and Norway, where she was top scorer with 53 goals, the bronze medal. At the World Cup 2013, it was with 29 hits, including eight by seven meters, the most successful Romanian pitcher.
