Critical Art Ensemble

The Critical Art Ensemble ( CAE ) is a collective of five, critical media artists, which was created in 1987 by Steve Kurtz and Dorian Burr in the United States to life.

Works

Your public art, computer art, movies, videos, research and publications overlap with scientific and policy studies and the development of critical theories of media and society with a focus on the critique of modern technologies. Artistic events and theoretical models combine it with political actions such as the "electronic civil disobedience ". Numerous actions and publications deal with different areas of " Tactical Media ", biotechnology and genetic engineering. They develop various forms of civil disobedience.

In Germany they are through their publications on civil disobedience to electronic media, through an exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt and through their publications "Molecular invasions " of biotechnology and genetic engineering known.
