Crustation

Crustation was a trip-hop band from the English city of Bristol.

The three musicians Ian Dark, Stig Manley and Mark Taylor made ​​already for over a year together music and already had two EPs released on vinyl before the Irish singer Bronagh Slevin, the band lent her voice to 1995 came.

1997 Crustation publish their first and only album Bloom. It contained ten melancholy and dreamy tracks. Bloom While there was entirely electronic, it was Stig Manley and Co. but very important to play on stage all the instruments live, to express their relationship with nature. This naturalness of it was that distinguished them from their Bristol trip-hop colleagues, who used a more urban style. Stig Manley commented to his bandmates Mark Taylor, the music was too pure. "Make it crustier. Sound Has to be crusty ". So the band got its name.

Despite good reviews Crustation never achieved the success of their popular friends Tricky, Massive Attack or Portishead, with whom worked the three Britons in part to the same band projects.

The production was the music of Crustation by Steve Osborne and Ben Hillier under the label " Zomba ".
