CS Fola Esch

The Cercle Sportif Fola Esch (German Sportkreis Fola Esch) is a Luxembourgian football club. The club was founded in the city of Esch / Alzette on December 9, 1906 as Fola Esch and is the oldest club in Luxembourg. The abbreviation means Fola Football and Lawn Tennis ( football and lawn tennis). The club colors are red and white.

The club plays its home matches at the Stade Emile Mayrisch. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 10,000 seats, with today only about 3,900 spaces are available for structural defects.

History

December 9, founded in 1906 as Fola Esch / Alzette,
1910 renamed CS Fola Esch / Alzette,
1940 forced name change to Red Earth Esch / Alzig,
1944 Return renamed CS Fola Esch / Alzette.

National success

Luxembourg champion (6): 1918, 1920, 1922, 1924, 1930 and 2013.
Luxembourg Cup Winners ( 3): 1923, 1924 and 1955.

The traditional club plays in the 2008/ 09 season for the first time since 1994 in Luxembourg the highest league, the National Division. After the association between time to the first division (3rd Division) had dismounted, he played for the 2006/2007 season back in the Honorary Degree (2nd Division). Failed Fola Esch 2007 still in the ascent to the National Division game 0-2 at Victoria Rosport, succeeded in the following year, the direct ascent. 2013 scored the first league title after 83 years.
