ÄŒSD Class E 426.0

The ČSD Series E 426.0 (from 1988: 113 series ) is a four-axle electric locomotive for the operated with 1.5 kV DC lines of the former Czechoslovak State Railways ( ČSD ).

History

It was created because at the beginning of the seventies, the first generation locomotives, the E 422.0, had reached the end of their economic useful life and therefore substitute. 1973 were built by Škoda in Plzeň six copies of the new Series E 426.0. The locomotives should the existing older locomotives (E 423.0 E 424.0 and 436.0 E ) on the two routes still operated at 1.5 kV DC ( Rybnik - Lipno nad Vltavou and Tábor Bechyně ) peel off. Were home to the locomotives in České Budějovice and Tábor.

The machines are the second generation of Škoda cars and electric locomotives were mechanically and electrically on the basis of e 458.0 (from 1988: 110 series ) was developed. Externally, the vehicles with those of the E series are 458.0 identical except for the color. By halving the electrical voltage it follows also a possible halving of the hour and continuous power.

The locomotives came all to the inventory of ČD and currently manage all the traffic on the last electrified at 1.5 kV DC line Tábor Bechyně.
