ÄŒSD Class EMU 29.0

The ČSD series EMU 29.0 (since 1988: Series 405.95 ) are electric cog railway railcar of the former Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD, which were procured for the location in the High Tatras cog railway Štrba - Štrbské Pleso.

History

The three railcar units were supplied by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works SLM in Winterthur in 1969. They are broadly similar vehicles as they had previously been made ​​already for the Vitznau- Rigi -Bahn and the Arth- Rigi Railway in Switzerland.

The motor coaches operate together with a non-powered, but otherwise largely identical control car R-series 29.0 (now 905.95 ), which is uphill enqueued. In peak times, a solo operation. For a rapid passenger vehicles each received three doors on one side only.

The three units came 1993 on the Slovak ZSR and are still on their regular route in use.
