Culm Valley Light Railway

The Culm Valley Light Railway was a British railway company in Devon in England.

The Company was incorporated on May 15, 1873 to a railway line from Willand to build upon Hemyock. The concession was based on a control of the Railways Act of 1868, which allowed a simplified construction. The Company received strong local support. The construction of the line cost £ 50,000 instead of the planned 20,000 pounds and took two years longer than planned. On 29 May 1876, the operating picture is taken.

At this time the disappointed owners had already decided to sell the company. In April, the Great Western Railway acquired the company for 33,000 pounds.

As part of the Beeching Axe of the passengers on 9 September 1963, the freight on September 6, 1965, set. By the year 1975, a dairy was served.
