Culture Ireland

The Irish Culture Institute ( in English: Culture Ireland / Irish: culture Éireann ) is an Irish agency whose aim is to promote Irish arts and culture abroad.

The institute was founded on 23 February 2005 by the Irish Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O'Donoghue. Headquarters of the Institute is Dublin. The Institute is headed by a Director appointed by the Minister of thirteen Directors. The goal of the Institute is to develop international cultural contacts and to promote the dissemination and reception of Irish arts and culture. For this purpose, the Institute Irish artists financing options available. 2007, the budget was 4.5 million euros. In addition, the Institute is the Minister in cultural policy issues advisory capacity. In March 2006, a strategy paper for 2010 was drawn up, in which the main lines of the cultural policy of the Institute have been established.
