Cumbuco

Cumbuco is a small fishing village in northeastern Brazil in the state of Ceará. The nearest large city is Fortaleza ( 35 km), which is also where the international Pinto Martins Airport. Cumbuco is part of the municipality of Caucaia 8 km away. The infrastructure includes national and international restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shops, car rental and numerous hotels, guest houses and apartments.

The climate is tropical. Being close to the equator, the annual average temperature is 28oC. The rainy season is from January to May The rest of the year over the sun shines and it rains more often.

Scenic striking are the high dunes. The palm filled beach slopes, shallow water, and is about 20 km long. The special fishing boats that can be seen on the coast of the state of Ceará, hot Jangadas.

Cumbuco, despite the proximity to the beach several freshwater lakes ( Lagoas ), which are used for bathing and water sports.

Cumbuco has developed into a center of Trend Sports Kitesurfing. Therefore, many kitesurfing schools have settled in recent years.

Through a newly emerging steel industry north of Cumbuco, in Pecém to create 500,000 jobs, with the aim, Cumbuco can expect in the future with strong growth.

The charcoal heating plant for the steel industry is in operation, and the rest of the building complex is under construction.
