Cusco (Band)

Cusco was a German music project from Weilheim, which was founded in 1979.

It consisted mainly of the composer, keyboardist and producer Kristian Schultze and singer, lyricist, composer and producer Michael Holm. Schultze was keyboardist in Doldinger Klaus jazz-rock project Passport and spar in the seventies known pop singer.

The greatest success Cusco in Japan, South Korea and the United States, several million copies have been sold worldwide.

1992 Cusco composed the music for the 20 - part TV series " Sielmann 2000 '.

So far the project has been nominated three times for a Grammy Award, most recently in 2004 in the Best New Age Album category.

Cusco's style can be described best as an instrumental New Age music. As already reveal the names, are concept albums with themes to foreign countries and cultures as well as islands and underwater worlds. Songs like " Alcatraz " or " Galapagos " of "Desert Iceland " have many heard without the title to know. The music is characterized by catchy melodies and pan flute sound.
