Customised Applications for Mobile networks Enhanced Logic ( symbol: CAMEL ) is a space created by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute standard for mobile communication networks.

CAMEL enables advanced features in mobile networks, such as prepaid billing roaming, that is, prepaid billing, customers can not only network of its own mobile phone provider, but also in foreign networks where these networks support CAMEL least the same standard. Likewise, thereby further functions such as SMS for prepaid customers are available. Many more modern features and services are made possible by CAMEL only.

The CAMEL functionality is provided by the CAMEL Application Part (CAP ) in the Signalling System 7 ( SS7). CAP can be found at the height of the Mobile Application Part (MAP ) and uses to transfer the Transaction Capabilities Application Part ( TCAP) and the Signalling Connection Control Part ( SCCP).
