Cyprus Football Association

The Cyprus Football Association ( CFA) (Greek: Κυπριακή Ομοσπονδία Ποδοσφαίρου, ΚΟΠ ) is the Cyprus Football Association. He is based in Nicosia.

The CFA is responsible for the organization of football in Cyprus and is thus responsible among other things for the Cyprus national football team. In addition, the Federation Organizer is the professional league First Division, the Cypriot Cup and the Supercup.

History

At the beginning of the 20th century, the football slowly established in Cyprus after he was brought into the country by the British. In order to organize the growing number of clubs better, was founded in September 1934, the Cyprus Football Association. In 1948, one of FIFA, in 1962 joining the UEFA. 2007, the new headquarters was opened in Nicosia.
