Cyril Baselios

Cyril Mar Baselios Malancharuvil ( born August 16, 1935 in Pandalam, Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, India, † January 18, 2007 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India) was Major Archbishop of Trivandrum and head of the Syro -Malankara united with Rome Church.

Cyril Baselios Malancharuvil was a member of the Order of the Imitation of Christ (OIC ). He received on October 4, 1960, the ordination. In 1978 he became bishop of the newly created Eparchy of Battery in India, a suffragan of the archeparchy Tiruvalla. In 1995, he became the Archbishop of Trivandrum ( Thiruvananthapuram seat in ); 2005 Major Archbishop.

Cyril Baselios Malancharuvil from 1995 until his death, head of the Syro -Malankara united with Rome Church.

He died in Thiruvananthapuram on the consequences of kidney disease.
