Cyril Salmon, Baron Salmon

Cyril Barnet Salmon, Baron Salmon, PC ( December 28, 1903 *, † November 7, 1991 ) was a British judge and life peer.

Life and career

Cyril Salmon was born on 28 December 1903 in London and comes from the family of entrepreneurs Salmon, who held from 1887 to 1978, the restaurant and hotel chain J. Lyons & Co.. He attended Mill Hill School and later the University of Cambridge, where he studied law. He received his legal approval in 1929. He was appointed in Gravesend 1947 recorder. In 1957 he was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Justice and knighted at the same time. From 1964 he was one of the Privy Council and also served until 1972 and as Lord Justice of Appeal. On 10 January 1972 he became a life peer with the title Baron Salmon, of Sandwich in the County of Kent appointed and also served as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in the House of Lords. In 1980, he put all the offices, pulled back into retirement and eventually died on 7 November 1991 at the age of 87 years.
