D-Irie

D- Irie (* 1981 in Berlin; civil Denis Quist ) is a German rapper. He became known in the fall of 2006 with his debut single What now wtf?! .

Biography

D- Irie was born the son of a product originating in Ghana Reggae musician father and a German. After his father was initially sentenced to imprisonment for an offense, and finally deported, he grew up alone with his mother. An attempt to break into an electronics store, was the mid-1990s unpunished because he was not criminally responsible with its 13 years. More offense followed. Only in 2001 was turned D- Irie himself to his musical career, after he had met the Berlin Rapper Big Sal and the breakdancer Crazy B. Both encouraged his talent and eventually took him to her founded in Berlin -Wedding 2004 Music Label Shok - Muzik under contract. First publications of D- Irie appeared on the compilations of the label. In August 2005, he finally brought together with the rapper Crackaveli his debut album double risk to the market.

The first commercial success came in 2006 with the D- Irie Love What now wtf?! That was marketed and promoted by the Warner Music Group. After the premiere of the related videos she took in October 2006 for a short time the first place, the viewer charts of German music channel MTV. After the release they also reached the German single charts.
