Da Zhao Temple

The Dazhao Temple (Chinese大 召or大 召 寺, Pinyin Dazhao, Great Temple ' ) is a major temples of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism in the old city of Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia. It was originally built in 1579 during the Ming Dynasty and is considered the oldest Lamaist temples in Inner Mongolia.

Among his most revered religious treasures is one of 3 Dalai Lama in 1586, donated during a visit than-life silver Shakyamuni statue, which is why the temple and silver Buddha Temple (Chinese银 佛寺, Pinyin Yínfó Sì ) is called. He also holds a shrine for the Qing Emperor Kangxi and wall paintings that are reminiscent of his visit. Among its cultural heritage are finely crafted dragon carvings.

The Dazhao Temple ( Dazhao ) is since 2006 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (Inner Mongolia ) ( 6-488 ).
