Daegu Metro

The subway in Daegu was opened in 1997 and now has two lines. The construction was started in 1992. On 18 February 2003, a mentally ill broke in the station Jungangno from a fire in which at least 198 people died.

The construction

Line 1 was opened in 1997 /98 and has a total of 25 km long, has 29 stations, each of which is 149 m long. In May 2002, it was extended by 0.7 km to the southwest. All stations and vehicles are fitted with air conditioning. With the construction of Line 2 Line 1 was started at the beginning of operation. Was completed, the 28 km route in October 2005. A connection between the two lines is the Banwoldang station in the city center.
