Dagmar Kersten

Dagmar Kersten ( born October 28, 1970 in Altdöbern ) is a former German gymnast devices. Your home club was the SC Dynamo Berlin.

Dagmar Kersten began together with Ulrike Klotz at school in Cottbus gymnastics. With ten years both changed into Turn boarding school in Berlin. 1981 and 1983 won Dagmar Kersten in Spartakiade the all-around standings. At the European Championships in 1985 Dagmar Kersten finished fifth in the all around and received a bronze medal in horse jumping. Even more successful she was at the World Championships 1985 in Montréal. She won bronze in the all around, in the team competition with the crew of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the horse jump; on the uneven bars she finished second behind her teammate Gabriele ensign.

At the 1988 Olympic Games Dagmar Kersten occupied with the East German team to third place and reached the eighth place in the individual standings of the multi- battle. She reached two apparatus finals: In the horse jump, she took sixth place on the uneven bars, she won silver behind the Romanian Daniela Silivaş.

At GDR Championships she won in 1985, 1987 and 1988 the title in the all around. 1985 and 1988 she also won the horse jumping, 1988 additionally on the uneven bars.

After the turn Dagmar Kersten moved to Stuttgart and worked at the Swabian Gymnastics Federation. Since 2006 Dagmar Kersten is the Lower Saxony Turner -Bund eV in training " Trainer C Artistic Gymnastics Competitive Sports " as " NTB - Training Officer " working and traveling in many other training for gymnastics in the clubs in Lower Saxony.

1986 and 1988 Dagmar Kersten Award of the GDR with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
