Dai-ichi Life

Dai -ichi Seimei Hoken Kabushiki - gaisha (Japanese第一 生命 保 険 株式会社, dt "Life Insurance number 1", engl. The Dai -ichi Mutual Life Insurance Co., Ltd.. Dai -ichi Life or short ) is a Japanese headquartered in Tokyo.

The company is focused as insurance companies on life insurance, but also offers other types of insurance. Dai -ichi Seimei Hoken is the third largest insurance company in Japan, after Seimei Hoken Kampo and Nihon Seimei Hoken. The company was founded on 15 September 1902 by Tsuneta Yano. In 1993 the main building of the company, the DN Tower, was completed. In 2002, the 100th anniversary of the company was held.

At the beginning of fiscal year 2010 (April 1 ) took Daiichi Seimei a change of the legal form of a sogo - gaisha, a " mutual society ", in which the insured can exercise certain ownership rights in an ordinary corporation, which since the first section of the Tokyo exchange traded and was included in the Nikkei 225 stock index in 2011.
