Daisy von Scherler Mayer

Daisy von Scherler Mayer ( born 14 September 1966 in New York City, New York) is an American film director and screenwriter.

Life

Daisy von Scherler Mayer was born in 1966 as the daughter of actress Sasha from Scherler and the screenwriter and film producer Paul Avila Mayer in New York City. As a granddaughter of Edwin Justus Mayer screenwriter she was thus born into a proper film family, so that they as a teenager behind the scenes at the New York Shakespeare Festival and worked in 1988 graduated from Wesleyan University in theater arts and history.

A few years later, she made her feature film debut as writer and director of comedy Crazy Party Girl. She succeeded so successful that followed it into a series with Christine Taylor and John Cameron Mitchell was produced, which was however discontinued after four episodes. Even after they staged comedies, like Madeline, Woo and The Guru. Although the Super Guru, despite mixed reviews and a budget of just over 10 million dollars grossed over 24 million dollars and thus could be considered a financial success, she moved slowly go out of business and led sporadically in the following years in series like aliens in America, Nurse Jackie and Chuck director.

Daisy von Scherler Mayer is married to composer David Carbonara, has with him two children and lives with her family in Brooklyn, New York City. Her husband worked in 1998 for the sound editor her family comedy Madeline and then was as a composer for their comedy The Guru active. Since he is also the composer of the acclaimed series Mad Men, he could win for an episode as a director in 2009.
