The Daitō - Bunka University (Japanese大 东 文化 大学, Daitō bunka daigaku, German literally means " University of Culture of Greater East Asia ", in short: Daitōdai (大 东 大) or DBU) is a private university in Japan. The main campus is located in Itabashi in Tokyo Prefecture.

History

Founded in 1923 as the University of Bunka Gakuin Daitō (大 东 文化 学院, dt " Academy of Culture of Greater East Asia " ) from Daitō - Bunka Club, which was founded in the same year, and after the vote ( 1921) of the Japanese Parliament. The purpose of the foundation was to promote East Asian culture, especially Confucianism ( Chinese Studies ). The Academy was originally located in Kudan, Chiyoda. In 1941 she moved to Ikebukuro and was renamed Daitō - Bunka Gakuin technical school in 1944.
