Dajabón Province

Dajabón is a province in the north-west of the Dominican Republic. It was separated in 1938 by the Province of Monte Cristi and was until 1961 the name Libertador.

Geography

The south of the province is determined by the Corillera Central. In the west, the province of Dajabón by the eponymous river Rio Dajabón (also called Rio Masacre ) distinguished from Haiti.

The surrounding provinces are Monte Cristi, Santiago Rodríguez and Elías Piña.

Economy

As in all the provinces, the agricultural sector can not be ignored even in Dajabón. In addition to local products and tobacco and rice are grown. The milk production is significant.
