Dakota (Band)

Dakota was an English pop rock band that stood at CRL, a subsidiary label of Universal Music Group under contract.

The band's name Dakota was referring to the New York apartment building where John Lennon lived and died.

History

The band was founded in 2007 by the show jumper Ben Talbot, along with Rob and John Armitage Aaron Whelan. About the show jumper Henry Lacey, he learned that his jumpers colleague Tom Davison plays bass and got him then as a gain in the band.

On July 13, 2009 Dakota released her debut single, Wild Child, which was played on radio stations in the UK. At BBC Radio 2 show, the band went to live in the Claudia Winkleman Arts. During this time the band had many live appearances, including when they played Vibes From The Vines Festival and at the European Championships in show jumping and dressage riders.

2010 the band played at the British Open Show Jumping Championships. In June 2010, after disappointing sales of their third single We Get Along, the band by their record company parted. Shortly after, they broke up. Officially named the band artistic differences as the main reason for their separation.
