Dakshin Rai

Dakshin Rai ( Bengali: দক্ষিণ রাই "King of the South" ) is a revered in the Sundarbans in India and Bangladesh divinity who rules over beasts and demons.

Near the railway station Garia in Kolkata there is a range called'' Lakhikantapur ''; on this is the station Dhabdhabi. A few miles away is a Dakshin Rai Temple. The inhabitants of this area worship this God. Once this area was one of the Sundarbans.
