Dalaas
Dalaas is a municipality with 1551 inhabitants (December 31, 2013) in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg in the district of Bludenz.

Geography
Dalaas lies at the foot of the Alps Klostertaler Lechquellen Mountains and the Verwallgruppe in the Kloster valley in the district of Bludenz to 835 meters. 28.4 percent of the area is forested, 25.6 percent of the area Alps. Quarters are Dalaas and Wald am Arlberg.
History
Dalaas has evolved from an existing already in 1300 mining settlement. The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Dalaas heard since the founding of the Vorarlberg Landtag 1861. The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.

The proportion of foreigners at the end of 2002 at 6.3 percent.
Policy
The municipal council consists of 18 members. The composition of the 2010 election is ÖVP: 13 seats, 2 seats SPÖ, FPÖ 3 seats. Mayor since 4 December 2005 Christian Gantner.

- Klostertalmuseum: The biggest cow in the world was to 2007 in its home museum (built of spruce of the rural youth young peasantry Vorarlberg ): 9 feet long, 6 feet high, 3 feet wide
Economy and infrastructure
At the site there were in 2003 24 companies in the industrial sector. Taxable wage -employed, there were 728 tourism and tourism are important: In the tourism year 2001/2002 there were a total of 84.949 overnight stays.
Traffic
Dalaas situated on the Arlberg railway between Langen am Arlberg and Bludenz.
Dalaaser tunnel
On the Arlberg expressway S16, the 1810 meter long, single-bore tunnel Dalaaser. It is used to bypass Dalaas. Above the tunnel is approximately 90 to 100 meters of overburden.
Education
In Dalaas and forest, there are two kindergartens and (as of January 2003) 87 students.
