Dale Duesing

Dale Duesing ( born September 26, 1947 in Milwaukee ) is an American opera singer of the vocal range baritone and director.

Duesing learned as a child playing the piano and studied singing at the Lawrence University in Appleton (Wisconsin ), where he graduated in 1967 be. He then joined as a Fulbright scholar from his training at the Academy of Music in Munich.

He began his career in 1968 at the Municipal Theater Munster, from 1970 to 1973 he was engaged at the Theater Bremen. Duesing was then six years of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf and was often during this time at the Hamburg State Opera as a guest. In 2010 he directed the production of Jacques Offenbach's opera The Tales of Hoffmann its third production at the Frankfurt Opera.

Awards

  • In 1993, Dale Duesing received a Grammy for his recording of Samuel Barber's The Lovers with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Schenck.
