Daman, Daman and Diu

Daman is a town in the same district of the Indian union territory of Daman and Diu. It has about 36,000 inhabitants ( 2001 census ).

The average height of five meters above sea level.

In 1559 it was conquered by the Portuguese and named DaMao. He belonged until 1961 to Portuguese India.

The Indian Air Force ( Indian Air Force) have a military airfield in Daman ( Daman Airport ).
