Damián Iguacén Borau

Damián Iguacén Bornu ( born February 12, 1916 in Fuencalderas, Spain) is a retired bishop of San Cristóbal de La Laguna Tenerife o.

Life

Damián Iguacén Borau studied philosophy and theology at the Theological Seminary of the Holy Cross of Huesca and received on 7 June 1941, the ordination. He initially worked in the Pfarreren Ibieca and Torla, then at the Igreja de Santa Engrácia and for the Ordinariate in Zaragoza. After a pastoral commitment in Tardienta and at the seminary he was pastor in San Lino, later worked at the Iglesia Basilica of San Lorenzo in Huesco and for the Ordinariate in Huesco.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 10 August 1970 Bishop of Barbastro. The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Luigi Dadaglio, donated to him on 11 October of the same year in the cathedral of Barbastro episcopal ordination; Pedro Cantero Cuadrado were co-consecrators, Archbishop of Saragossa, and Arturo Cardinal Tabera Araoz CMF, Archbishop of Pamplona- Tudela. Iguacén Bornu was appointed on 23 September 1974 Bishop of Teruel Albarracin. He was the founding chairman of the Inter- Diocesan Commission for the investigation of the limits of the Church in Aragon.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 14 August 1984 Bishop of San Cristóbal de La Laguna Tenerife o. He was chairman of the Episcopal Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Spanish Bishops' Conference of 1984 to 1993.

On June 12, 1991 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
