Damian Kallabis

Damian Kallabis ( born June 10, 1973 in Gliwice, Poland ) is a former German track and field athlete.

His biggest success was the surprising victory over 3000 meter steeplechase ( 8:13,10 min) at the European Championships in 1998 in Budapest. Furthermore, it was that of Stéphane Franke trained Kallabis fourth in this discipline at the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville. In the 2000 Olympics he ran after falling to 15th place

The World Cup Final 1998, he won the European Cup finals in 1999, 2000 and 2002, he came in second. 1998 and 2000 he became German champion. On 11 August 1999 Kallabis ran with 8:09,48 min in Zurich the still existing German record over the 3000 meter steeplechase. After a doping incident around Kallabis and his coach Stephane Franke Kallabis could not reconnect it to the top. He resigned in late 2004.

Damian Kallabis had a competition weight of 66-68 kg at a height of 1.77 m.
