Dana Ranga

Dana Ranga ( born 1964 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian writer and filmmaker. Dana Ranga lives and works in Berlin.

Life

Dana Ranga was born in Bucharest in 1964. First, she studied medicine at the University of Bucharest, and later moved to Berlin and the Free University, where she studied journalism, art history and film theory. Dana Ranga works as a writer and filmmaker in Berlin.

Her first film East Side Story (1997) was recognized in 1998 at the film festival Marseille and shown in cinemas and television world. The Documentary Story ( 2003) on the astronaut Story Musgrave won prizes at film festivals in Marseille ( 2003), Leipzig ( 2003) and Houston ( 2004). After that produced Dana Ranga Cosmonaut Polyakov (2007), a portrait of Valeri Polyakov record holder, which was awarded in Sao Paulo for best documentary. In 2009 followed " Oh, Adam ," a film about the folklore surrounding the death in a Romanian village. " I am in Space " (2012), a film about psychology and weightlessness, where personal video recordings of the French ESA astronaut Jean -François Clervoy be shown completes the space trilogy.

Dana Ranga wrote two radio plays ( "The Eye of the Supernova", WDR 2002, "Heart, Head, number", WDR 2005), translated poetry and prose from Romanian and English into German and published his own texts in magazines ( meaning and form, manuscripts, accents that hear, etc.). She debuted as a poet with the poem collection "Stop". 2011 appeared Dana Ranga's volume of poetry water book.
