Danan (also Danaan, Amharic ደናን Denan ) is a locality in the Gode Zone of the Somali Region of Ethiopia. It is the capital of the eponymous Woreda Danan.

The name means " salty" in Somali and refers to the salt content in the water, the positive effect on the camels effect. The inhabitants operate for about a century agriculture, an important horticultural product is sorghum. In addition, cattle are kept.
