The Universidad Nacional Daniel Alcides Carrión is the State University of Pasco, Peru. The campus is located at about 4,300 meters above sea level on the Meseta de Bombón. It maintains offices in Oxapampa, Yanahuanca, Paucartambo, Tarma and La Merced. In Vicco ( province of Cerro de Pasco ) is since 2013, the Faculty of Human Medicine.

History

The University was founded on 12 April 1965. It emerged from the Universidad Comunal de Pasco, which was subordinate to the University of Huancayo.

Orientation

The focus in research and teaching is in the areas of mining and material sciences, agricultural sciences, and health sciences. The interdisciplinary level research is at (eg height of Agriculture, Altitude Medicine ) in the foreground, such as the cultivation of maca ( Lepidium peruvianum Chacon, Syn Lepidium meyenii Walp. ) And their effects on the health of the mountain population ( altitude sickness by José de Acosta ).

The University consists of eight faculties. The construction of the ninth Faculty of Human Medicine was fixed in 2011.
