Daniel Barben

' Daniel Barben ( born June 10, 1961 in Zurich, Switzerland ) is Professor of Science and Technology Research at the Institute for Science and Technology Research at the Alpen- Adria-Universität Klagenfurt.

Life

Barben studied 1982-1989 Sociology, Psychology, Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Berlin. In 1995 he received his doctorate in Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Potsdam and habilitated in 2004 at the Political and Social Sciences of the University of Berlin. From April 2010 to December 2013 he held the first in Germany and so far the only professor for future research at the Institute for Political Science at the RWTH Aachen. 2012 Barben was appointed to the BioEconomy Council " ( BÖR ).

Since January 2014, barbel professor at the Alpen- Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. His research areas are interdependencies between processes of scientific and technological and social changes in relation to global problems in the fields of health, nutrition, energy, mobility, demographic change and climate change.
